Become a Reformer Instructor
at Sanse Academy
From a passion for Reformer to professional instructor.
Sanse Space offers a unique Reformer instructor training programme that combines technical precision with a sensory and attentive approach to movement and teaching. The programme is for you if you want to learn how to teach Reformer training with depth, understanding and quality – whether you already have experience in your body or simply a strong interest and desire to learn.
In a world filled with pace and performance, we believe that teaching Reformer training should be conscious, body-centred and human. That is why our programme is not just a technical review of exercises – it is a journey into how you see, guide and touch people with respect and intuition.
The programme is open to anyone with an interest in Reformer training and movement. We expect that you have trained on the Reformer yourself and have an understanding of the exercises, but you do not need to be a qualified trainer or physiotherapist beforehand.
Programme content
Anatomy & Physiology
Basic knowledge of the body, joints and muscles – targeted at Reformer work
To be able to teach safely and effectively, it is essential to understand the structure and function of the body. In this module, we delve into the practical anatomy that is directly relevant to Reformer training.
We work with visual learning, models and movement – and everything is linked directly to practice on the Reformer, so you understand how anatomy unfolds in movement and teaching.
This module is not only about theory – but about sensing and understanding the body with your eyes, hands and intuition.
Reformer training
We include active participation, observation and dialogue, so you learn to read the body’s signals and understand variations in movement patterns. Through hands-on exercises, you train your ability to see, correct and guide – with respect for individual differences.
Anatomy & physiology becomes a living tool here that strengthens your intuition and enables you to teach with both professional confidence and sensory presence.
The Instructor Role
Communication, use of voice, class structure and contact with participants.
A skilled Reformer instructor is not only technically well-founded – but also confident, clear and present in their communication. In this module, we work on how you build a strong teaching identity that balances professionalism with authenticity and empathy.
We work with small teaching exercises and feedback in a safe setting, so you gain experience in taking on the role and finding your own teaching style. It is not about playing a role – but about becoming comfortable being yourself in front of others.

FAQ
Do I need to be a qualified trainer beforehand?
No – you do not need to be a qualified trainer. But we expect that you have participated in a minimum of 30 Reformer classes, have a basic understanding of the body and a good sense of rhythm, so that you can follow the teaching and build on the technique we teach you.
Where does the teaching take place?
All teaching days are held at Sanse Space’s premises, primarily in Valby.
What is required to pass?
To pass the programme, we expect you to participate actively in the teaching, arrive on time and stay until the class has ended. As you have chosen to enroll in the programme yourself, we also expect that you have set aside the time and prioritise attendance.
In the event of excessive absence – both practical and written – we may assess that you are not suitable or ready to take the exam.
As a future instructor, it is essential that you can keep to schedules, take responsibility and be a role model for your future participants. This is an important part of the assessment leading up to passing the exam.
Can I be an instructor at Sanse Space afterwards?
We are always open to bringing skilled instructors into our team – it depends on capacity and chemistry.
